Zulum swears in 5 judges in Borno – Daily Trust

Borno State governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has sworn in five new high court judges to enhance effective and efficient speedy justice delivery in the state.

Zulum urged the newly appointed judges to uphold the tenet of justice as the last hope of the common man.

The new judges are Hafsatu Isah Bappah, Buna Makinta, Bukar Malgwi Umar, Mohammed Maina and Amina Mustapha Ibrahim who were among those recently confirmed by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

In his remarks, the Chief Judge of Borno State, Justice Kashim Zannah, who administered the Oath of Office to the judges, urged the government to expedite action on the welfare of judiciary workers.

Also speaking at the event, the state’s acting Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hauwa Abubakar, expressed optimism that the new judges would perform better than expected.
