Katie Holmes Leans Into Cosy Season in Trending Clogs


We’ve seen Katie Holmes do top-to-toe Khaite leather, a mesh flapper dress, and a slinky Tom Ford take on the hooded gown trend in recent weeks. But the Dawson’s Creek alum and latter-day street style phenomenon can’t resist a cozy look when off-duty. 

A long-time Birkenstock fan, Holmes appears to have invested in a pair of the brand’s trending Boston clogs, which are fast replacing Ugg slippers as the fashion girl’s comfort shoe of choice. Everyone from Sienna Miller to Kristen Stewart to Kendall Jenner has been spied wearing the no-frills flat, so it was inevitable that Holmes should eventually swap her Arizona sandals for a pair of her own as the temperature drops.

The actor wore hers with a comfy waffle-effect Aerie loungewear set in an oatmeal shade, over a flannel shirt (another low-key item that’s tipped to blow up in 2023, thanks largely to Kate Moss’s appearance on Matthieu Blazy’s spring runway at Bottega).

Between the New York City backdrop and the fresh flowers peeping over the top of her snuggly, shearling effect tote, Katie looked as though she was on the set of a rom-com. If When Harry Met Sally was given a contemporary remake (although here’s hoping that never happens), Meg Ryan’s character’s oft-referenced autumn wardrobe would definitely include a pair of Birks.
