RHOA’s Cynthia Bailey and Mike Hill Finalize Divorce

Following Cynthia Bailey’s split from Peter Thomas, she found love again with Mike Hill.

“One thing I’m not going to do is, I won’t be proposing to Mike,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum exclusively told Us Weekly in April 2019, noting she “definitely” saw marriage in their future. “He actually has to propose to me. ‘Yes’ is my answer, but he has to do it on his own time.”

She added at the time: “After my divorce, I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’d ever get married again.’ Well, I kind of said, ‘I wouldn’t get married again,’ to be honest. I’d just given up on the whole marriage thing. Now, my answer has changed … If you ask me will I marry Mike Hill? The answer’s ‘yes’ because Mike is a whole person, I’m a whole person, when we come together we’re just great. It’s just easy, and it’s comfortable.”

The sports broadcaster eventually popped the question to Bailey nearly three months later. They wed the following year on October 10, 2020, surrounded by several of her former RHOA castmates. As the then-couple navigated married life, they continued to grow in love.

“Never stop dating each other✨,” the Celebrity Big Brother alum captioned a March 2022 Instagram snap with Hill during a date night in Los Angeles.

As the pair remained focused on their romance, they faced cheating allegations in November 2021 after Hill was accused of sending a nude photo of himself to another woman.

“We’re great. Rumors are rumors,” Bailey told TMZ at the time, as she and her then-spouse denied the “annoying” claims.

While the couple were able to make it past marriage speculation, they ultimately decided to divorce nearly one year later.

“LOVE is a beautiful thing. While we both will always have love for one another, we have decided to go our separate ways,” they told Entertainment Tonight in a joint statement in October 2022. “We are grateful that we remain good friends, and will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife.”

They concluded: “Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning, and we appreciate our family, friends and beloved fans for your positive support as we move forward and start new chapters. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!”

Nearly two years after Bailey and Thomas finalized their divorce, she moved on with the talk show host after they initially connected during a mutual appearance on The Steve Harvey Show that April.

After one year of dating, Hill proposed at the opening of her Bailey Wine Cellar in Atlanta.

“I am so excited and in shock!” Bailey told Us at the time. “I had no idea that Mike was going to propose tonight! He and our beautiful daughters … got me real good and I’m so happy that my friends and family were here to witness everything. Wow! I can’t believe it.”

The reality TV star shares daughter Noelle, born in 1999, with ex Leon Robinson, while Hill welcomed daughters Kayla and Ashleé from his two previous marriages.

Following their engagement bliss, Bailey admitted she was worried about potential infidelity scandals.

“I think I’m getting Mike at the best time in his life, right now,” the Bravo personality said during a February episode of RHOA. “But he has cheated on his [two previous] wives before me. What makes me different?”

The Open Book author assured Bailey that he is a “different Mike” now and was trying to “do [marriage] the right way this time.”

“We have been tested,” the Alabama native told Us about how the twosome navigated quarantine for the coronavirus pandemic. “However, I was laughing because one of the things that I used to complain about being in a bicoastal relationship is spending quality time together. Well, this is quality [time].”

She continued at the time: “I didn’t mean morning, noon, night, breakfast, lunch, dinner. I didn’t mean the only time that we go out is to go to Costco. OK? I kind of had to eat my words on that since I’m eating everything else around here.”

Several months later, Bailey admitted that it was “horrible” trying to have sex with her spouse while in lockdown since their three daughters were around.

“Quarantine in a house with all your kids, can you imagine trying to have sex with your man?” she quipped to Us. “You know how horrible that is to have like quiet, secret sex all the time? It’s like they know it’s happening, but you can’t, like, be loud. It sucks. It really sucks. I was constantly doing the walk of shame in our house.”

The Bailey Wine Cellar entrepreneur and Hill celebrated their October 10 nuptials with a “futuristic, masquerade party.”

After Hill was accused of sending inappropriate photos to another woman, he and Bailey fervently denied the claims, which they called “annoying.”

The couple announced on October 12, two days after their second wedding anniversary, that they had split. “We are grateful that we remain good friends, and will always cherish the many memories we’ve shared together as husband and wife,” they noted in their statement.

The reality star opened up about the “final straw” in her and Hill’s marriage that led her to call it quits.

Speaking to Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave on their Two Ts in a Pod podcast, Bailey confessed that she ended things because she “felt like we weren’t friends anymore.” I felt like it was just going toward we’re just not going to be friends if we didn’t pump the brakes.”

The TV personality invoked her previous marriage to Thomas, adding, “This is not my first rodeo. I think friendship just has to be there in a marriage. Like, love is great, but friendship has to be there. I truly want to be with my best friend.”

Less than two months after their split, a judge signed off on their divorce, according to docs obtained by TMZ at the time.
